THE LONGER VERSION

As a Creative Director of art and design, I bring a viscerally original point of view and comprehensive experience to every project. My inspiration is born from a genuine desire to contribute to the greater good. I strive to help others be their best selves by communicating insightful messages with compassion and empathy. It’s these pursuits that leed my approach to every assignment and recognition I’ve earned so far in my career. And it’s what I hope to achieve in my next new challenge. 

A native of Hawaii, my advertising journey began as a studio artist at Chiat/Day. It didn’t take long before I worked as an art director on major brands such as CNBC, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and National Rent-a-Car. Then I shifted to the B-to-B side of the biz gaining experience on Dow Chemical and Agfa accounts. Not long after that, I was producing TV and print campaigns for Bell Atlantic, CorningWare, and pitching in on the MasterCard “Priceless” pitch. As well as Dell and IBM’s international digital campaigns and a Slim-Fast Super Bowl spot.

While freelancing for ad agencies and PR firms, I found time to put teams together for my own clients which included brands like MetLife and Vonage. In my role at 360i, I sharpened my social media chops working on Fisher-Price, Enterprise Rental Cars, and Nestle Waters campaigns. Most recently, Shelly has brought her experience and talent to some notable pharma-based agencies. Working on DTC and HCP efforts for clients like Jardiance, Cologuard, and QBrexza to name a few.

In the non-ad world, I once owned an interior design business, designing furniture and renovating Manhattan apartments. Winning the Houzz Customer Service award each year I was in business. For Shelly, just like in ad shops, working alongside people to achieve the desired outcome (with some magic sprinkled in) is what it’s all about. “To help people create beautiful living spaces that inspire and fit their needs is an honor that I never take for granted.” Last but not least, Shelly also enjoys playing with mud. Otherwise known as wheel throwing ceramics and creating a one-of-a-kind collection of nature inspired pieces.
